Television today

Daily TV shows us what we have to think or do. The TV doesn’t allow us to generate our own opinion about what is happening in the world and it doesn’t allow us to know about what is happening in our country.

The television doesn’t allow the development of reading like a habit among Chilean young people, because what TV shows is could be more entertaining than the things a book shows.

My dad always told me that TV was bad for me and my siblings, because it doesn’t allow starting a conversation at lunch time.  This situation has affected many families who don’t realize the problem that brings us: a poor communication at home.

Television is unnecessary in my life. I think I can find other means that allow me to create my own opinion about news.

Finally, I think that TV has been a great contribution for the Chilean society in technology, modernity and mass media, but the TV doesn`t allow us to generate our own opinion about what is happening around us.

HOW WE SEE THE CHILEAN SOCIETY

Every day we are discriminating the people,  without realize us.

In chile we say that Peruvians are poor, that they are invading us and they working for little money.

Without going any further, this is an example that our Chilean society falls into very discriminatory prejudices that we not lead to anything good . We are used to feel that the normal is good  and that everything is outside our " poor culture" is something negative .

Almost every day with our friends , we are evaluating the personality of a acquaintance . We say  she's stupid because she's blonde , or that he's a bad person because someone told us.

Sometimes we judge only because we see from a far away perspective, for example we discriminate to someone arriving by car to university or he lives "allá arriba", they have lots of money .

Even with our own family we have been prejudiced. we have a sister , cousin or niece who is a mother at a young age , and not knowing motives, reasons or at least something that allows us to create us an idea of ​​what happened , we think that it is a loose , crazy or parents lost control over it .
